*** Missed part four? Click  here ! Want to read from the start? Click  here ! *** Sumit had got off the bus and looked at his watch. He felt relieved to know that he was not late. He checked the building opposite the road. There were banners inviting people to the lecture. The building looked huge. There was an arch at the entrance, and a straight path leading to the hallway. The auditorium, where the lecture was about to start, is on the ground floor. There were a couple of floors above, and they also might be used for some or the other functions, or ceremonies, he assumed. It was his first time visiting this place. While he was slowly scanning the building from bottom to top, his head went all the way up to the roof, and he saw the stars in the sky. Stars always used to be a topic of wonder for Sumit. Who could not love star gazing during nights with a cool wind on their face? But the stars were no longer a wonder for him. Instead, they became remainders, reminding him of w...

*** Missed part three? Click  here ! Want to read from the start? Click  here ! *** Rekha likes quiet early mornings, where there are no man-made sounds, but just cute discussions of the birds about world affairs in a secret language. She has been demanding more solitude for herself recently. After doing the daily chores, she looks for the status of the applications at various companies. It's been about a month since she left her job. She wonders how she had to leave the job even though it was not her fault. She was trying to be herself. She said she wanted to be herself. But her colleagues had not understood it. They thought she was bossy. They thought she was selfish. They did not realize they were contradicting their own definition of freedom, as if it was not applicable to women.  They wanted to control her. They showed that they would control others against her. But her colleagues had not understood it. She did not ask them to treat her in a special way. She was aski...

*** Missed part two? Click here ! Want to read from the start? Click  here ! *** Sumit is standing near the top of the cliff while the Sun is preparing to call it a day. The cool breeze is giving him company. He closes his eyes to register the scenery deep in his heart. After a few moments, he opens his eyes and gets startled to see someone near the cliff's edge. The silhouette looks like a woman. She is not watching the sun. She is watching him. Does she know him? Or, does he know her? He decides to move towards her. She is wearing a black scarf around her neck, which is swinging opposite to the direction of the wind. As soon as he starts walking, she also starts moving. After a few steps, he realises it - she is moving, but not towards him. "Hey, what are you doing?", Sumit shouts. Now he starts running. "Stop! Stop moving that way..!", he screams. She stops at the edge of the cliff. He is still running to catch her before she can do something horrible. While ...

*** Missed part one? Click here *** "Tara.." "Mmm...", Tara was rolling in her bed. She was creating just enough sound so that she would not wholly wake herself up but would inform her mother that she was not asleep. She had wanted to enjoy the pleasant moments before the day began its hunt on her. She wanted to sleep more. She was trying to slow the time. Maybe I need a time machine just to sleep more. But, wait... Her sleep was now half disturbed. Why do I want to sleep more? Summer mornings would be easier to wake up right? Why is it this much cool? It must have rained in the night. "Is there any rain yesterday Mom?", her eyes half closed. "Yes yes. There was a sudden rain the night." Does it mean... "But thank God it is cleared now. Now, come on. Don't you want to go to school?" Why they don't give holidays in these situations?  Why the holidays should be given on those specific dates every year? Are we meant to feel happy...

The road is dark and foggy. It is clear up to a few feet, preventing viewing clearly what lies ahead. Anyways, this road is familiar for him. He can manage except on those nights when he is diving deep into his thoughts. Unfortunately, tonight is one such night. ** His colleague, Rekha. He is in a dilemma. He wants to be with her, and at the same time, he fears what can happen if they get together. He is trying hard to be with her, most of the time. At the same time, he is forcing himself to stay neutral. Recently, he observed that Rekha has preferred to be with him. She sits with him whenever possible - at the office, during lunch, tea breaks and tours. Whenever they talk to each other, they look into their eyes, directly. Just the eyes. Eye contact makes them lose track of time. He does not know what is happening. Does he feel happy with her being near? Yes, no doubt. Does she feel uncomfortable with him being near? No, she never expressed such a thing. "Hi, Sumit. Err, so, I ...
